Caritas Valjevo is a socio-humanitarian organization and a licensed provider of the “Help at Home” service. Caritas Valjevo began its work in the nineties of the last century, mitigating the consequences of the war and the disintegration of Yugoslavia, and later the consequences of NATO bombing.
The current activities of Caritas Valjevo include projects and activities aimed at helping vulnerable groups, primarily the elderly and people with disabilities, developing social care services, developing social entrepreneurship, acting in emergency situations and promoting mental health care in the community.
Due to the influx of limited funds and the creation of sustainability of activities, and in order to contribute to the development of daily services in the community, the conditions for the implementation of economic activity as an important factor for the work of the association were created. Since 2012, offset printing has started working within Caritas Valjevo. Caritas Valjevo is able to respond to various needs for quality printing, from the simplest forms of printing posters, textbooks, calendars, notebooks, notebooks, flyers, newspapers, magazines, to the most demanding products such as exclusive catalogs, hardcover books and various cardboard packaging for small and medium enterprises as well as industry.
At the end of February 2016, Caritas Valjevo opened a commercial laundry for all washing, drying and ironing services for citizens and legal entities from the territory of the city of Valjevo. The laundry is located in Karađorđeva street number 120/b in Valjevo. The commercial laundry is a supplement to the free laundry activities and services for adults and the elderly and people with disabilities who are not able to take care of the hygiene of their clothes on their own.
Caritas Valjevo is a licensed provider of the “Help at home” service by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Veteran Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. The social protection service “Help at home” is a support service for users in meeting daily life needs, in order to improve or maintain the quality of life.
Caritas Valjevo contributes to the community through social inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups, strengthening social cohesion and responsibility in the community and other activities. Today, Caritas Valjevo’s 18-member team provides 12,000 services as part of home assistance to 120 adults, elderly and disabled users on a monthly basis, between 700 and 800 kilograms are washed for people living on the edge of the margins, and various humanitarian aid is provided to over 20 households. The Caritas Valjevo team, with the support of foreign volunteers, has been providing daily psycho-social support and education services to migrants in transit through Serbia for five years, and a number of different activities are being implemented in the above-mentioned fields.
