Cafe Bar 16 was founded by the non-governmental organization Center for Youth Integration, which also runs the Children’s Shelter Program – empowering children who are members of socially vulnerable and marginalized groups. When the children in Svratishte reach the age of 16, so that they are not left to fend for themselves, Cafe 16 provides them with the opportunity for education and employment – the entire program through which young people in Cafe 16 go is designed so that before they start working, young people are trained for jobs bartender and waiter.
Cafe bar 16 is located in a popular and urban part of Belgrade for young people – Cetinjska quarter. Cafe 16 offers, in addition to hot and cold drinks, burgers, and sandwiches with different ingredients, due to the cooperation Cafe bar 16 has with food bars in Cetinjska.
The mission of Cafe 16 is reflected in the employment of former users of the Center for Youth Integration’s Program aged 16 to 16, with training and practice for waiters and bartenders. Cafe 16 provides an opportunity for young people from vulnerable categories to leave the group of social assistance beneficiaries forever.
